Although this Book 11 in the TerraMates series by Lisa Lace, this book is aptly named Origins. It tells how the dating agency came to be. It tells the story of penpals of 10 years, Sophie of Earth and Khellen of the planet Biyaha. As a way of doing her part in helping fight overpopulation problems existing on Earth, the story starts with Sophie making the decision to take vows for Single for Life. Khellen is facing problems of his own on his home planet which due to extremely low population numbers has a strict law that requires its citizens to be married by their 25th birthday or else they are arrested and taken away to never be seen again. Before starting a promoted position with her employer, Sophie is required to take a vacation and decides to surprise Khellen, whom she has never met in person, and help him find a wife. This story has a protective mother, a scorned fiancee, a jailbreak, a secret island hideaway, and a character who questions their feelings of friendship vs love or being used by another. At times I was upset by the actions of some of the characters and wanted to give them a good shake and point them in the right direction because they didn't seem to have a clue how they were viewed or felt about by others. I would say my feelings were really invested in this book and it made me want to keep reading just to find out what was going to happen next. Wow! This book started Terra Mates and it has action, jealousy, fear, romance, steamy love scenes, with explanation of how it was created? Love this series, highly recommend, and keep them coming.

Origins was great, didn't get it till the end but it kept me reading.
Captured by the Alien was better. I sadly wasn't interested in it from its own blurb but since it was free I read it and I'm glad I did.
This is one author that manages to write a book more outstanding then the last one.
The female characters are strong and never act the victim. Readers finally learn how and why Terra Mates came to be a flourishing business. Origins has an unpredictable plot full of twists.

The story between Sophie and Khellan and how the Terra-Mates got started was good. The story caught my interest right away and I couldn't put the book down. Gave me what I look for in a book; fast paced, interesting and informative, follow through on the story line. Good build of the characters and the twists and turns leading to a satisfying end.
The only problem I had was the jump at the end of the story. It was abruptly and let me feeling like I missed something in between. Overall, I enjoyed the story. Look forward to more stories of the Terra-Mates.
